Happy Eid Adha!

Programme : Anis Qurban
Venue : My grandfather's surau at Pt Buah Keras, Muar, Johor
Date : 10 DzulHijjah 1430, November 28th, 2009

ever wonder what actually happened back then commencing the Qurban celebrated in Eid Adha? the history goes here for your reference, incase I forget too. :)

Four thousand years ago, the valley of Mecca was a dry and uninhabited place. According to Islamic history, the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was instructed to bring Hajar and their child Ismael to Arabia from the land of Canaan by God's command.

As Ibrahim made ready to return to the land of Canaan, Hajar asked him, "Who ordered you to leave us here"? When Ibrahim replied: "Allah"(God), Hajar said, "then Allah will not forget us; you can go". Although Ibrahim had left a large quantity of food and water with Hajar and Ismael, the supplies quickly ran out and within a few days the two were suffering from hunger and dehydration.

According to the story, a desperate Hajar ran up and down between two hills called Safa and Marwa seven times, trying to find water. Finally, she collapsed beside her baby Ismael and prayed to Allah for deliverance. Ismael struck his foot on the ground, causing a spring of water to gush forth from the earth. Other accounts have the angel Jibral (Gabriel) striking the earth and causing the spring to flow. With this secure water supply, they were not only able to provide for their own needs, but were also able to trade water with passing nomads for food and supplies. When the Prophet Ibrahim returned from Canaan to check on his family, he was amazed to see them running a profitable well.

The Prophet Ibrahim was told by God to build a shrine dedicated to him adjacent to Hajar's well (the Zamzam Well). Ibrahim and Ismael constructed a small stone structure–-the Kaaba--which was to be the gathering place for all who wished to strengthen their faith in Allah. As the years passed, Ismael was blessed with Prophethood and gave the nomads of the desert his message of surrender to Allah. After many centuries, Mecca became a thriving city and a major center for trade, thanks to its reliable water source, the well of Zamzam.

One of the main trials of Prophet Ibrahim's life was to face the command of Allah to devote his dearest possession, his only son. Upon hearing this command, he prepared to submit to Allah's's will. During this preparation, when Satan tempted Prophet Ibrahim and his family, Hajar and Ismael drove Satan away by throwing pebbles at him. To remember this rejection of Satan, stones are thrown during Hajj.

At the time of sacrifice, Ibrahim discovered a sheep died instead of Ismail, whom he hacked through neck. When Ibrahim was fully prepared to complete the sacrifice, Allah revealed to him that his "sacrifice" had already been fulfilled. Ibrahim had shown that his love for his Lord superseded all others: that he would lay down his own life or the lives of those dear to him in order to submit to God. Muslims commemorate this superior act of sacrifice during Eid al-Adha.

lastly, may our sacrifice be accepted by Allah and hopefully we will see many many qurban in many many years, insyaAllah.

and so let the pictures speak.

3 : Justin Timberlake

ah what else to say when at that time most of the girls my age were droolin' (and still slobbering) over this boyish hunk. sexy curly hair he possesed, unfortunately he had it shaved but bald is an element to being a hottie so who cares? to me he's more than cute, less than handsome, a bit raunchy and playful. ah simply love him!

4. Ryan Phillippe

Mr (ex) Whiterspoon as i would call, possess a different appeal from the previous men ive introduced. ive always liked his shrewd-cunning demeanor. he has this naughty looks that allures my wild side and that is wickedly attractive! *blushes* so move away, he's mine.

5. Wentworth Miller

Known as Michael Scofield in Prison Break, he's the heartthrob, literally! His role potrayed in Prison Break is suffice to say - my dream man. brilliant, cute, responsible, a risk taker, nerdy-like romantic, plus a sangfroid who never fail to melt my heart. everytime, yes definitely all time favourite with beautiful eyes and slick smile. scofield, a hero of my heart!

6. Daniel Radcliffe

Just look at that face, its pure innocence soothes every pulse of my beingness like a spell. harry potter just makes me feel like a schoolgirl, where i go gaga over high school senior who is not just smart but a virgin! *LOL* just imagine this angelic face in a robe holding a book, im bewitched!

7. Patrick Dempsey

8. Hugh Jackman

watched Xmen Origins : Wolverine last night and hugh is now officially selected and added into my award collection. heroic and sexy, im not gonna quell my nature instinct that he's by all odds my bad boy. apparently with stubbled face and great biceps, i find him simply irresistible! *drools*

Walking Down Memory Lane with ...

it's about 9.30pm when a ym pop up requested me to add a friend. appeared as 'ana syareel', i lazily clicked yes and continued watching Night At The Museum 2, for the 5th time i recall. 3-4 chapters everytime that is. attempting to make it last and final tonight, i left the laptop opened on the sofa, didnt even open my fb. but a beep that changed my mission tonight was too hypnotic to be ignored. a beep that carried a name 'ana syareel' gave its introduction:

ana SYAREEL (11/12/2009 9:26:49 PM): salam qim..
qimy2002 (11/12/2009 9:27:44 PM): w'slm

that ignited the whole darn conversation. a lengthy 2 hours of schmoozing and news exchange to be exact. guess who? it's suhana ghazali, my ex room mate in smka!! she's amongst the tens of my long lost friends who gets to reconnect via the modern communication tool ~ oh god bless the internet. infact she googled my name and came across my wedding pictures in one of my friend's fotopages, saw my email addy and gotcha! like they say, the rest is history. actually ive been using that method to spy jejak kasih for years, and trust me, it works! shhh..

she's still the old suhen, funny and bubbly. happily married with a cute suhen-like son, currently working and staying at Bentong, Pahang. had a photo-sharing session, she's shown her latest raya picture and she looks great! and beautiful if i may add. :) ah dont worry guys, ive already urged asked her to create facebook account and hopefully soon she'll be there to join the rest of you folks. to those who miss Suhen very much like i do, please and please add her 'ana syareel' at yahoo messenger. im sure there's a lot to catch up and talk about, really cant wait to see her at the group!

welcome back to our circle of friends, Suhen. you are one of my wonderful memories back then at smkabp. luv yah!

All the way to JB!

thank Allah, for im here in Sunway safe and sound. travelling 660km in 2 days has given me back ache and sore bum. add this cough and stuffy nose im having since 3 days ago, i can now feel my body heats up. great, say hello to the flu world, im now really really sick.

wait, wait, wait..hold that thought. my sickness doesnt have to do with anything JB. despite the fact that my date with mity was cancelled at last minute, my time at JB was - suffice to say, a blast. remember the wedding that was supposed to reunite us exMavians, it was convivial! i had pleasure meeting my ex software team, and hubby was definitely overjoyed getting around his buddies like ol' time. dressed blue sedondon with hubby, i was greeted by mar with bloated tummy, obviously consumed too much nasi beriyani (she's due january if im not misheard), nida with ong and ong jr (supercute), ruki with her full faced hubby and kids (with 9 mo baby too!), all-solo act from razman (red-faced, too many 'when is your turn' questions asked), azan and his ever beautiful wifey with kids, kak lela and hubby (looking dashing with fat wallet), kak normah and family, pian and dijah, zahrin and yai, kokhon, azizul, apai n wifey, and a lot more names i fail to remember. was expecting few familiar faces like mr poon, thiru, khapiz n family, azie, masitah, zai and kak ita but didnt get to meet them. they were either coming late, too early or uninvited im not sure. but what i regretted much was when most of them were spotted with new babies, i have none to introduce. feeling unjusticed with bombarded questions and remarks of 'bila lagi','kesian anis sorang' and the likes, i suspected their newborns were either kidnapped or adopted. i mean, how could they have 2 extra kids within 2 years when i was still weighing whether to have another?

but nevertheless, sepol's wedding reception was exactly a dream come true! - minus lee of course coz im pretty sure he wasnt invited. *chuckles*

ate, talked, gossiped, took pictures and headed back home with another agenda, meeting kak ita. she didnt attend the wedding so i told hubby lets meet her up for a chitchat. the short meeting turned out to be a 45mins wait from the bored looking hubby (what did you expect, betingkap really takes time hokay..) and only by 9pm, we were ready to pack up and go home. bid adik goodbye with heavy heart. mom looked reluctant to leave her youngest daughter alone for the umpteen times, she nearly cried. with 130km/hour and rm41.20 toll charge, we reached PJ at midnight, just in time for hubby to watch the much awaited match - ManU vs Chelsea. i by then was already on bed, sleeping with a smile and contented heart. that trip to JB was indeed short but sweet. :)

so gotta end the entry, medicine time and i havent had my lunch yet. bye for now!

p/s1: will post the wedding pictures later. forgive the picture quality, or rather the photographer..lol!
p/s2: kudos to Mediacorp for showing The Seed of Chucky. Anis had really wonderful time on tv! really miss having singapore channels, dam* astro for such lousy programmes shown! and extra fees too! $&$^%^@#!

Pizza Anyone?

last night i dreamt about someone..and pizza! dont get me wrong, it doesnt reflect any craving nor secret wish and no, im not pregnant either. (later mity eh! :p)

so this is how it goes. i was in a place, waiting for someone for a mini reunion. apparently there was a sedan car waiting for the two of us and from afar, i could see a jolly-looking friend of mine running towards my direction. frantically waving her hand i quick recalled she was a good friend in KTAM, Noordiana Misdi. Yan gave me a welcome hug and said something like she's been waiting for this meeting and really looking forward to hear from me. pleased, i invited her to the car to go somewhere to eat and we sat limousine style, facing each other while there were 5 more people at the back seat to share the ride with. surprisingly, all of them were ex KTAM batch but only one face looked familiar. she was Yin, sherin. not sherin hazlin, another with beautiful dimple. she seemed to be oblivious to our presence and i was about to exclaim her name but the car stopping at Pizza Hut made everyone rushed out. i followed suit and that was when a conversation took place. right then, i dont remember whether i was already seated or still standing at the entrance.

yan : ko kat sana musti asyik makan pizza aje kan?
me : manade, aku try skali aje pizza. tu pon terpaksa. aku order cheeze pizza. pizza kat sana dikira makruh..kalo bleh tinggal, lagi bagus.
yan : ye ke makruh..nape ek?
me : memula aku pon kompius sebabnya..sbb aku check website makanan halal, status pizza dia tulih masbooh. tp x dinyatakan pulak kenapa..sampai la aku pi sendiri kedai pizza, order cheese pizza tu la baru aku dpt kesan sebab musababnya..
yan : aa apsal ek..sbb ada babi ke?
me : aku memula masuk kedai pizza tu aku sekodeng dulu dia ada menu babi tak. bila takde, aku kira ok la kot setakat nak makan cheese pizza..
yan: pastu?
me : bila tgh ode tu masih was3 lagi nak ode ke tak, tp pizza tu aje la satu3nya kedai deret situ yg aku bleh makan..so bila tgh tunggu pizza sampai, aku duduk btol3 ngadap recieving counter. dia bagi alat mcm sensor, kalo bebunyik maknanya kita bleh pi receiving counter tu and amik pizza kita.
yan : oO mcm tunggu giliran la ye..
me : aa begitulah gamaknya. so tgh3 tunggu tu, aku tgk3 la counter tu dari jauh. nampak dia masukkan frozen pizza dlm oven. dah panas dia bawak kuo, potong 8 pastu org dtg amik pizza. masa tu le aku baru perasan, pisau or cutter yang dia guna utk potong semua pizza tu x dibasuh dan x ditukar. semua pizza guna cutter yang sama. aa ko bayangkan la kalo org sblm aku ode pepperoni, time dia potong pizza aku kompem bekas pepperoni kan? tu la yg jatuh hukum makruh tu..agaknya la..
yan : ish geli jugak kan..tapi kalo tak tau makan aje la tol tak?
me : duk sana musti amik tau punya la..x pasal3 perut aku xde bezanya ngan perut lee goke how.
yan : HAHAHAHA..

i dont know how the name lee goke how triggered the amusement coz lee for sure wasnt an ex KTAM. he was my ex collegue in MAV. funny how his name got into my dream, especially in that particular scene of reunion.

ah mebbe that was a sign. a huge sign! this weekend im gonna attend hubby's bestfriend's wedding in Johor. probably i get to meet Lee after so long. that case if he's invited. i hope the wedding would be the mini reunion im looking for, not for the ex KTAM unfortunately, but for ex MAV. gotta get the time right, kena calling calling geng tetingkap MAV ni..lest another dream is gonna prolong into ex MAV reunion. *shrugs*

another probable sign would be..pizza anyone? been ages since i had that toothsome hawaian chicken.

and the mushroom soup! *drooling*

so another entry another day folks. to anyone who knows Yan and has her contact no, please convey my warmest regards to her. and a hug too if possible. better still get her to come here and read my silly dream! *chuckles*

adios for now.

Stuff and Nonsense

ahh lemme guess! another month of absence? as ridiculous as it is, aint facebook the best excuse? spent too much time getting around on everyone's profile, snooping and meddling at everybody's status, peeking through tons of selective albums, and to say the least, facebook is definitely a good place for kepochis (nosey parker) in making! that's not addicts inclusive if i may add. very well fb users, dont take offense. i know i cant be more right than abraham lincoln.

for i dont have much to tell (yet), updating blog is pretty darn boring. and troublesome. count the lost drafts and unsaved entries when connection went bad, attaching photo(s) alone takes forever (no thanks to w1max). and this duty-like activity must go on even then, for the sake of purpose i set earlier as bloggers, sharing is definitely baring caring. i cared too much having visitors coming for nothing, ive decided to write off something, once a while. at least as preventive to blogathy. this contradicts facebook, when the only thing required to update in your profile is what's on your mind shoutout. that actually is optional too, capable to show you're still active kepoching. otherwise, nobody cares, really.

to those who keep coming back to this blog for newses (thanks to feedjit), i do have quite a number of unpublished stories to share with. but for now i think kids say the darndest thing anis version will do with the time limit. superflous yet a recollection you cannot miss. with that i hope i will have more to write in time to come. so readers, have fun!

scene 1

'mommy, anis wants a biiggg cake for my birthday okay'
'ok..'
'big cake like afi tau mommy..'
'ok..'
'anis wants pink cake with the leg too mommy!'
'whhaat?? what cake with the leg?'
'like afi..kan afi got big cake with the leg..so many leg ok..2-3 leg..'
'???'

cant make out those words she said? neither did i until Afi's birthday scene in Ceria's Afi dan Abah took over.

'abah, betul ke abah boleh belikan afi kek sebesar 6 kaki?'

get the drift? 6 feet cake! cake with leg. LOL

scene 2

'why do yo u color all the letters brown, anis?'
'this is different brown la mommy..look, one is switch on brown, one is switch off brown.'
'???'

only genius can crack the code. can you? *chuckles*
see below for the answer.

scene 3

'daddy's talking to who, mommy?'
'a friend. achu (achunaidu)'
'why daddy friend's name is achu? sounds like sneeze only..'
'HAHAHA'

Aachooo!! excuse me folks..

scene 4

riddle : how many hours does anis take to get dressed?
answer : go figure *sighs*

lavender hand and body lotion, perfume, talcum powder, toy phone, comb, watch, mirror, compact powder, lipgloss, purse.

answer for scene 2 :
switch on = light
switch off = dark

p/s : today's my youngest sista's burfday! lets pray she's fine, her staying alone really makes me worried!

to you burfday gal, have the happpppppiest birthday eva! love you muchoooo!! (altho mom's not there to cook special ahaks!)

Selamat Hari Raya EidFitri!

when everybody starts wishing Happy Hari Raya, im not gonna sit and contemplate on whether or not to join the lot. im pretty sure i share the same sentiment, feeling joy and anxious at the same time, especially when ramadan is closing and hari raya is coming - not next week but in a mere 4 days, presuming Sunday as probable date for AidilFitri. the joy is unspeakable for one, im here in Malaysia, thus my loved ones are just 300+km away and two, Anis is 4, i guess she's old enough to understand the meaning of Hari Raya, definitely old enough to experience Hari Raya at extremest delight - cookies, fireworks, kurung attire, angpow etc. compared to previous years.

but in the midst of overwhelming emotions celebrating the festival, forget not the intention of our mission. as EidFitr or widely known as AidilFitri means festival and nature, Hari Raya is exactly the time for us to get back to our natural state. this will suggests us to free ourselves from sins - past, current and future, and any transgression made shall greatly be rued. just remember, Allah loves those who repent and with His Maghfirah (Pardon and Forgiveness), may our inequities be absolved and grant us the entry of complete bliss and joy, the Garden of Eden, Heaven, whatever you call it, insyaAllah. to make this a dream come true, Allah has given us Ramadan, and with a few barakah days remain, lets concentrate getting the utmost and work on many deeds (pahala) as possible. let this year of Ramadan makes us closer to our Creator and hopefully we will work harder until the next Ramadan to sum up a good evaluation for us to display in hereafter.

with this, my 2 cents to daddys would be, please make sure your family have the safest journey ahead, check your means of transport, get ready with all the sparetires and tools, and dont forget your wifey's inappropriate clothing and kids' spending are completely your responsibility. so sendiri mau ingatlah ye..

to me and mommys out there, make sure there's no unnecessary spending before and after Hari Raya. help yourself and family to gain access to Syurga so any gaudy, unsightly sexy clothing might as well go right into the dustbin. dont let your excitement of the new curtain, new cookies, new furniture prioritize the importance of the last 10 (or 4 to be exact) days of Ramadan. isteri solehah membawa ke syurga, you!

to dear kids and beautiful children, please dont equal your excitement with number of fireworks and mercun you play, and getting angpow or duit raya is not our way of life, so dont santa clause your parents or relatives into giving you specified amount of money. treat their gift with gratitude and learn saving. you will be amazed at how much your angpow can do you good in the future, trust me! ;)

gosh, bitching away sure is tiring me out. didnt know i'd be this naggy. so to cut it short and make it sweet, i wish to all of you dearest friends of mine, Selamat Hari Raya and Maaf Zahir Batin.

selamat ye! roger and out.
